		STAFF MICHAEL A. AKED, CFA Director Michael is responsible for risk and portfolio management. He joined UVIMCO in July 2007. Prior to joining UVIMCO, Michael was a portfolio manager for SunSuper, an Australian Superannuation fund, and held investment positions in equity, fixed income and asset allocation at UBS Global Asset Management. Michael holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute. He received his BA from the University of Sydney and his MSc from the University of Chicago. KRISTINA M. ALIMARD, CFA Chief Operating Officer Kristina oversees the Operations and Administrative teams. Her responsibilities include investment accounting and operations, performance reporting, human resources, and compliance. She joined UVIMCO in May 2003. Kristina was previously employed as a senior financial analyst with GE Financial Assurance and as a manager in the Global Financial Strategies Group of KPMG LLP. Kristina holds a Certified Public Accountant license in the state of Maryland and the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. She received her BS in Accounting from the University of Delaware and an MBA from Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia. SHARON C. ARGO Executive Assistant Sharon provides executive assistance to Kristina Alimard and Ed Klees. She joined UVIMCO in April 2007. CHRISTOPHER J. BRIGHTMAN, CFA Chief Executive Officer Chris joined UVIMCO in December of 2004. He has executive management responsibility and acts as Chief Investment Officer. He also serves as Chairman of the Board for TIFF (The Investment Fund for Foundations) Advisory Services, as an Investment Committee member of the Virginia Tech Foundation, and as an Investment Advisory Committee member of the Virginia Retirement System. Chris was previously employed as Chief Investment Officer at Strategic Investment Group, Head of Equity Strategy at UBS Asset Management, Senior Fixed Income Portfolio Manager at Brinson Partners, Vice-President and Manager of Asset / Liability Management at Maryland National Bank, and Associate National Bank Examiner at the Comptroller of the Currency. He received a BS, Finance from Virginia Tech and an MBA from Loyola College of Maryland and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. DIANA CLARK Administrative Assistant Diana provides administrative assistance to the public markets team. She joined UVIMCO in December 2007. BAC CUONG Investment Analyst Bac joined UVIMCO in July 2008. Prior to joining UVIMCO, Bac worked as a Marketing Strategy Analyst with HSBC Credit Card Services. He received his BA with Distinction in Economics-Mathematics and graduated magna cum laude from Colby College. BRENDAN DAWSON Investment Analyst Brendan joined UVIMCO in June 2009. He received his B.S. in Commerce with a concentration in Finance from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia. ROB WALKER FREER Director Rob is responsible for private equity, real estate, and resource investments. Rob joined the University in 1981 as Assistant Investment Officer. Before joining the University, Rob was a practicing attorney in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He is admitted to the Virginia, Florida, and District of Columbia Bars and is a member of the Virginia and Charlottesville/Albemarle Bar Associations. Rob received his BA in Economics from the University of Maryland and his JD from the University of Miami School of Law. SHARON F. HERBERT Manager of Corporate Accounting and Human Resources Sharon is responsible for operating company accounting and human resources. She joined UVIMCO in October 2004. Sharon received her BA in Accounting from Mary Baldwin College. EDWARD H. KLEES General Counsel Ed is General Counsel of UVIMCO. He joined UVIMCO in November 2008. Prior to joining UVIMCO, Ed was Associate General Counsel of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and was previously affiliated with several New York-based law firms: Berlack, Israels & Liberman; Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrison; and Shearman & Sterling. He holds B.A. and J.D. degrees from Columbia University. Ed is admitted to the Virginia State Bar as a Corporate Counsel. He is also admitted to the Bars of the District of Columbia and the State of New York. MARY M. LANE Office Manager Mary is responsible for general business office management, including facilities, insurance contracts, computer and technology issues, and general office accounting. She joined UVIMCO in February 2005. MARY G. LUERY Accountant Mary is responsible for investment cash flow reporting and payroll. She joined UVIMCO in July 2009. Prior to joining UVIMCO, Mary was an auditor at McGladrey & Pullen, LLP in the Richmond, VA office. She received her BS in Accounting from Virginia Commonwealth University. ANH QUYNH LUU Operations Analyst Anh is responsible for investment and shareholder accounting and related reconciliations. Anh joined UVIMCO in February 2006. Prior to joining UVIMCO, Anh was an auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Hanoi office. She received her BA from Hanoi National Economics University and her MBA from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. CHELLIE V. MORRIS Administrative Assistant Chellie provides administrative assistance to the private markets team. She joined UVIMCO in March 2002. GOR NARANG Investment Analyst Gor joined UVIMCO in May 2008 after receiving his B.S. in Quantitative Finance from James Madison University. TREVOR NARDONE Investment Analyst Trevor joined UVIMCO in July 2007. He received his BS in Quantitative Finance and Economics with a concentration in Finance from James Madison University. LAURA ROLLER Investment Analyst Laura joined UVIMCO in June 2009. She received her B.S. in Commerce with a concentration in Finance from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia. DAVID RUSSELL Director David is responsible for real estate and resource investments. He joined UVIMCO in April 2007. Prior to joining UVIMCO, David was a Project Manager with Forest City Enterprises, a large real estate developer, and a member of the acquisitions team at Starwood Capital Group, a real estate private equity firm. He has also held positions at UBS Capital and J.P. Morgan. He received his BA from Princeton University and his MBA from Harvard Business School. PAIGE SAWYER Executive Assistant Paige provides executive assistance to Chris Brightman. She joined UVIMCO in May 2004. She received her BA from the University of Virginia. ANDRIY SHAPOWAL Director Andriy is responsible for equity portfolios, long-only, hedged, public and private. He joined UVIMCO in July 2005. Andriy was previously an investment analyst at UVIMCO. Prior to joining UVIMCO, Andriy was a private equity and venture capital investor at JPMorgan Partners and its predecessor firm, Chase Capital Partners. Andriy earned his BS with Highest Honors from the University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce and his MBA from Stanford University. TINA B. SHIFFLETT Administrative Assistant Tina is the front desk receptionist. She joined UVIMCO in August 2009. J. ROSS SHIPE Investment Operations Analyst Ross is responsible for private equity pricing and cash flow reporting. He joined UVIMCO in June 2008. Prior to joining UVIMCO, Ross worked with the University of Virginia Foundation. Ross received his BA cum laude in Economics and Accounting from Randolph-Macon College and his MS in Accounting from James Madison University. ELIZABETH M. SNYDER, CFA Director Beth is responsible for long/short, absolute return, and credit strategies. She joined the University in September 1991. Beth received her BA in Economics from the University of Virginia’s College of Arts and Sciences. She was previously employed as a Research Analyst with Cambridge Associates from 1987 to 1991. Beth holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute. SUNNY L. TAYLOR Data Librarian Sunny is responsible for research, development, and implementation of data management processes. She joined UVIMCO in January 2006. DAWN C. WILSON, CPA Manager of Investment Accounting and Reporting Dawn manages investment and shareholder accounting, cash flows and other investment operations. She joined UVIMCO in January 2000. Prior to joining UVIMCO, Dawn was an auditor with the Auditor of Public Accounts for the Commonwealth of Virginia. She holds a Certified Public Accountant license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
